UPSC:Result declared Civil Services (IAS) Main 2012,

upscUPSC has declared the final result of the Civil Services (IAS) main examination 2012. Written test of the main examination was carried out in the month of October 2012 and selected candidates will be called for the interview  conducted by the UPSC in March-April 2013 in the merit order as on top merit holder candidates will be called for indian Administrative Service and Indian Foreign Service after that candidates will be called for Indian Police Service and Central Services, Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’. Final marks will be available on the website within 15 days.

Total number of candidates selected for interview is 998 against total number of vacancies 1091, details for category wise selected candidates are given below:

Gen=457 including Physically challenged candidates=23,

Other Backward Classes=295 including Physically challenged candidates=9,

Scheduled Castes=169 including Physically challenged candidates=2,

Scheduled Tribes =77

Introduction About UPSC: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is authirised as a central agency for conducting the various examination for the good service of nations. UPSC conducts mainly Civil Service Examination, Engineering Service Examination, Combined Defence Service Examination , National Defence Academy Examination and combined Medical Services Examination etc. This commission consists one chairman and 10 members and its terms and conditions are controlled by UPSC regulation ,1969.
