East Central Railway has announced the recruitment against Scout & Guide Quota of 2013-14 for the various posts covered under group C & D under Centralized Notification No. ECR/HRD/Rectt/Scout & Guide Quota/Pt.VIII/2013-14. Last date for application is 24/06/2013 for the four number of post while this advertisement is published on date 22/04/2013.
Post: (1) For the Headquarter Office of E.C.Railway : number of post=2(Group C Post), (2) For 5 Divisions of E.C.Railway ( Dhanbad, Danapur, Mughalsarai,Sonpur and Samastipur): number of post=2(Group D Post).
Qualification: Candidate should passed following creterion:(1) Matriculation and its equivalent, (2)(i) (a) A President ‘s Scout/Guide Ranger/Rover or Himalayan Wood Badge Holder or A pre-HWB Trained Scout leader/Advanced Trained Guide/Leader/Captain (b) should be an active member of Scouts Organization for atleast 3 years.(c) should be attended one national level event and 1 or 2 state level event or should be good record of participation in Scouts activities at unit level.
Age : For group C: 18 to 30 years and for group D: 18 to 33 years(Age will be calculated from the date of 01/01/2014).

First time in July 1942, Railway Recruitment Board was established for recruitment of Subordinate Staff on the the North West Railway with a Chairman and two members . On reviewing the position of railway in 1945, another Services Commissions at Bombay, Calcutta, Madras and Lucknow were set up under Railway Board. These Commissions were introduced with two fold functions of recruiting class III staff and also tender advice to General Managers for dealing with appeals from subordinate staff on disciplinary matters.
Objectives of RRB:
The RRB is headed by Chairman, assisted by Assistant Secretary, with a small team of Group ‘C’ & Group ‘D’ staff to run the RRB Office.
Railway recruitment board was set up to fulfill the following objectives:
1-By formation of different RRBs , work load is shared among all the RRBs.
